Future Warrior Concert
The Future Warrior Concert is Wednesday, January 10th at 7:00 pm. Performances by: Concert Band and Jazz Ensemble, as well as Sellwood and Hosford bands. All of the students will combine for one large pep band and play a couple rousing charts to close out the night.
With the addition of a combined number at the end, **Concert Band and Jazz Ensemble members must arrive by 6:00pm in all-black concert attire** for a short rehearsal with the Sellwood and Hosford bands.

All-City Honor Band Sectionals
Students who were accepted into the All-City Honor Band will need to attend sectionals on Wednesday, January 10th (unless they are members of the Jazz Ensemble).
We lost precious rehearsal time with the addition of a school day on Friday, January 26th, so we are trying to make up some of that time with a required sectional on 1/10 from 6-8pm

- Woodwinds @ Grant
- Percussion @ the District Office (in the lobby)
OMEA All-State Honor Ensembles
Congratulations to our bandmates who auditioned and were selected to an OMEA All-State honor ensemble. These students will be traveling to Eugene this weekend for their rehearsals and performances (Jazz on Saturday, all others on Sunday).

Photo & Video Help Needed
Keeping up with CHS Bands’ many events is no easy task, but many hands make light work! With so many groups performing over the coming months, please capture photos and video and upload them to our Google Album (or send them and we’ll upload).
It’s thrilling to see all the good times and great things the CHS Bands do throughout the year!
Pep Band Soon Approaches
Pep Band starts up on the first day of school after Winter Break. Each student has been assigned to either the Green or Gold Pep Bands (see band assignments here).
Students are welcome to perform at all games, but they must perform at the games their assigned pep band is scheduled to cover (see assigned games here) or work to find a replacement player on the same instrument.

2025 Spring Trip
Registration for our 2025 Spring Trip to LA and Disneyland is open now through January 12th. You won’t want to miss out on this amazing experience! Over 4 days and 3 nights you’ll
- Spend 3 days in Disneyland and Disney’s California Adventure Parks
- Tour Hollywood and Santa Monica Pier
- Dine like royalty at Medieval Times
- Attend a performing arts workshop hosted by the Disney Imagination Campus
- Attend a performance by the LA Philharmonic at the Walt Disney Concert Hall
- March down Main Street with the CHS Marching Band (or some other performance within the park)
This opportunity is open to members of any CHS band. It’s a great time of bonding and community building that your musician won’t want to miss! Be on the lookout for an in-person information session in the near future.

A few students have asked about the 2025 Spring trip to LA who had not registered, but wanted to know if they could still do so now.
The short answer is YES!
The current price for 75 students is $1779 per student. They do offer a payment plan, if you prefer. If we have more students participate, the cost goes down, and the company will offer a couple options for the overpayment (meal vouchers, reduce the amount of the last payment, etc).
If you choose to register, the company will put you on a waiting list, and notify Mr. Riler.
he would then approve the registration and you will be on board.
We currently have 75 students committed and registered for the trip, so there is plenty of room for a few more.
