Dine In at Hopworks and Board Meeting February 2nd

Hopworks on Powell is hosting our next Dine Out for FOCB! They have great pub food and it’s a fun atmosphere for everybody in there – so give yourself the gift of no dishes, and dine out for Cleveland!

If you would like to join the FOCB board meeting, time your visit to be between 6:30 and 8pm, because we will be in there having our February board meeting, too! Stop in and watch us figure things out in real time, and munch on some fries while we do it.

Hope to see you there!

Pie Sale Coordinator – Shadow

As you all know by now, we have a few big fundraisers through the year, and our fall pie sale is one of them. We are looking for someone to volunteer to shadow our current coordinator – this is a low-pressure way to learn how the pie sale is organized and supported, with the goal of building continuity for future years. If you’re interested in learning more or helping ensure the continued success of this fundraiser, please reach out – fundraising.chair@clevelandbandspdx.com

Winter Concert & Bake Sale

Our Winter Concert and Bake Sale will be on Tuesday, December 9th at 7:00 pm in the auditorium and we need many volunteers to donate delicious goodies and help serve on the front lines. The sale will take place BEFORE and AFTER the concert, so you won’t have to miss out on any of the great music!

We are looking forward to seeing you there, and raising some dough!

Step Up Instruments Available Now

The next couple weeks we will have step up instruments from Beacock Music for students to try.  At the end of the two-week period, families that are interested in helping their young musicians move into a better instrument can set up a session with Beacock Music in the Cleveland band room to discuss options. They will be with us on December 15th, from 5pm – 8pm

Jazz Ensemble – Bridging the Gap

The Cleveland Jazz Ensemble will provide music during this year’s Bridging the Gap 8th Grade Information Night. Their performance will help welcome prospective students and families as they learn more about programs and opportunities at Cleveland. The FOCB Board will be in the cafeteria to provide information about the support we provide – if you’re there stop by and say hello!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Pass the cranberry sauce! We here at FOCB central are wishing you a very happy day of gathering and reflection. This year, we are thankful for so many things – our eager and flexible volunteers, our supportive and engaged community, the joy of performing, and most of all the love of music that we get to share with all of you.
