Back to School Mini Band Camp
Please mark your calendars for our Back to School Mini Band Camp. This is a great opportunity for the band to get acquainted and start working on pep band songs before school starts.

Annual Family Picnic & Potluck
New, current, and alumni families are invited to join us that the Annual Family Picnic & Potluck!
When: Thursday, August 25th at 6:00pm
Where: Sellwood Park (SE 7th Ave & Miller St) – Picnic Site B (west side of park, east of the tennis courts)
Please bring a dish to share according to your last name:
- A-I: Salad or side dish
- J-S: Main Dish
- T-Z: Dessert
Friends of Cleveland Bands, our parent-led booster club, will provide plates, utensils, napkins and drinks. Feel free to bring your own picnic ware to minimize waste.

End of Year Celebration is Today!
End of year celebration is today, Tuesday May 31st, from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm at Pietro’s Pizza in Milwaukie, 10300 SE Main St, Milwaukie, OR 97222.
The pizza is being purchased for the students. Families are welcome to come, but will need to purchase their own food.
Starlight Parade Information & Volunteer Needs
The Starlight Parade is this weekend. Here is a document with rehearsal schedule AND the Itinerary with the Parade Day Schedule.
We need a few more volunteers to help the band students prepare at Cleveland HS from 3:30 – 5:30 p.m. for the Starlight Parade on Saturday, June 4th.
School Instruments
Seniors
- Will return all concert style instruments by June 1st.
- Will return all marching instruments Saturday PM June 4th after the Starlight Parade.
9th – 11th grade
- 9th – 11th grade students will return school instruments the week of June 6th.
- Be on the lookout for another google form to request an instrument for the summer.
- The district instrument techs will go through our entire inventory the week after school is finished.
- Any instruments that they leave at Cleveland will be immediately available to check out for the summer to those that have completed the form.
- Any instruments taken for repair will be delayed. They will contact you when the instrument is completed, so be sure the contact info you provide on the form is accurate. You will then need to go to the district office building to pick up your “summer rental”.
- There are NO fees associated with renting a school instrument.
Volunteer Needs for Starlight Parade – Important
The Starlight Parade is fast approaching! On Saturday, June 4th, we’ll need a handful of volunteers at the school in the early afternoon and another handful to support the group throughout the parade. Please mark this SignupGenius with the time slot you’ll be covering.
Awards Concert this Thursday
Awards concert is this Thursday, May 26 starting at 7:00 pm. We will celebrate our Seniors and the accomplishments of the year. Culminating with dessert afterward in the foyer.
End of Year Celebration

State Jazz Championships Recap
The Jazz Ensemble had to drop out of the State Jazz Championships because we had several members end up with COVID this week. It was a very hard decision to make, but we all came to the consensus that it was the best decision.
