Band Mini-Camp
Cleveland Band Family Potluck @ Sellwood Park
Thursday 8/26 (6:00 pm–8:00 pm)
As we barrel toward the end of the year, we have one more opportunity to get together (virtually). We will be having our end of year celebration virtually again. Normally we gather at Pietro’s in Milwaukie and take over the place for a couple hours…but not yet.
The live stream event will happen this Friday, June 4th at 7:00 PM. Link to the event will be sent out later in the week. Please join us!
The Friends of Cleveland Bands would like to distribute “Party in a Bag” to EVERYONE in the band program on Friday June 4th prior to the event that evening. The best way to do this is to have distribution points in 4 locations for students to swing by and pick up a treat bag. Here are the four locations:
We are asking that each student indicate which location they will pick up from with this GOOGLE FORM ».
Stay tuned for more information about distribution on Friday, (so help us out by completing the Google Form!) 😉
Trombone sectional is Thursday, 4:00–4:50 pm.
Bring a folding or regular music stand. A stand to those who do not own a stand will be provided. Materials to cover the bells will be available. Face masks may be removed when playing.
Wow! On behalf of the Friends of Cleveland Bands I’d like to say thank you so much for the support. This puts the band program in an excellent position to do great things next year! I for one can not wait to be sitting in the auditorium again listening to the results of Mr. Riler and the band student’s hard work.
The video of the event can be viewed at: https://youtu.be/HY_KmeY0SfQ. The gofundme page is still open for another few days: https://www.gofundme.com/f/chs-bands-2021-spring-playathon.
Thanks again,
Brian Richardson
Play-a-thon Organizer
As we finish a school year and look forward to better days ahead, it is imperative that we finish the year prepared for what is to come. We were building a strong leadership team in 2019 going into 2020, but much of that momentum has been lost. Mr. Riler is planning a meeting for ALL students to attend to share about what the leadership team at Cleveland looks like. They have some positions that need to be filled, but they also need a large group of students who are willing to do one thing or another to make the load on any one student lighter.
Students are requested to attend the Leadership Meeting on Wednesday, May 26th @ 12:30pm. Office Hours Button on Canvas will be used for the meeting.
Mr. Riler plans to finish no later than 1:00pm, but will remain in the meet to answer any questions.
The following will be discussed:
