The next couple weeks we will have step up instruments from Beacock Music for students to try. At the end of the two-week period, families that are interested in helping their young musicians move into a better instrument can set up a session with Beacock Music in the Cleveland band room to discuss options. They will be with us on December 15th, from 5pm – 8pm

WIBC Recap and Photo Call!
WIBC is complete! Seattle was cold and crisp, and 17 of our ardent band-oliers enjoyed the sights and sounds. So far, we’ve got a few photos from Mr Riler, but we’d love to have more!
Jazz Ensemble – Bridging the Gap
The Cleveland Jazz Ensemble will provide music during this year’s Bridging the Gap 8th Grade Information Night. Their performance will help welcome prospective students and families as they learn more about programs and opportunities at Cleveland. The FOCB Board will be in the cafeteria to provide information about the support we provide – if you’re there stop by and say hello!
Happy Thanksgiving!
Pass the cranberry sauce! We here at FOCB central are wishing you a very happy day of gathering and reflection. This year, we are thankful for so many things – our eager and flexible volunteers, our supportive and engaged community, the joy of performing, and most of all the love of music that we get to share with all of you.
Bakers and Servers Needed for the Winter Concert Bake Sale
Our Winter Concert and Bake Sale will be on Tuesday, December 9th at 7:00 pm in the auditorium and we need many volunteers to donate delicious goodies and help serve on the front lines. The sale will take place BEFORE and AFTER the concert, so you won’t have to miss out on any of the great music!
Please sign up here to bring baked goods and/or help staff the tables during the sale.
Thank you for donating your time and baked goods!
Dine out @ The Chomp December 9
We’re having another Dine Out fundraiser, this time at The Chomp Comfort Thai on Milwaukee! Come in and get some delicious Thai food before indulging in our bake sale at the concert. You can eat in restaurant, get takeout, or delivery, all will help support our band. Just mention you are there to support the Cleveland Band, and enjoy the night off cooking!
Calendar Updates! Please Read:
December 2025
We will have our annual Beacock Step Up night this school year in December. Intermediate and Semi-Pro instruments will be made available for students to try from December 1 – December 15. Beacock Music Representatives will then come on Monday, December 15 from 5pm – 8pm to answer questions and provide purchasing options for any interested families.
March 2026
Please note that some dates have been changed on the Cleveland Bands calendar in March of 2026.
The most important date change for the majority of families is that our Festival Band Concert has been moved to Wednesday, March 11.
Wind Ensemble dates have also been altered. The OSU Band Contest is on Tuesday, March 10, and we will also be performing at the Mt Hood Band Contest on Friday, March 13. Both of these events occur during the day. Students will miss one A day and one B day.
Thank You to the Fall Pie Volunteers
Thank you to Kimberly LeVelle, Tayler Kim, Kelly Nguyen, Debbie Conrad, Sue Ledgerwood, David Bleckmann and Khamille Neumann for helping organize and distribute pies and bringing coolers to help keep them cool.
