Incoming Freshman Families Zoom Event Recap

First of all, we want to thank the seniors and their parents who were at the event representing the band program and sharing their experiences. We had quite a turnout of students and their parents from Hosford MS and Sellwood MS asking great questions.

If you know any incoming freshman students interested in the program who missed the event but have questions, please have them check the website, subscribe to the newsletter and/or email Mr. Riler at griler@pps.edu.

Meet some of the Cleveland Band family. Our students and parents would like to meet you and answer any questions you might have about the band program at Cleveland HS.

We acknowledge that it’s been a rough year for school, and particularly so for band, but we want to give incoming students and families an opportunity to meet with some of the band students who can share about what things will be like next year when we’re able to be playing together again, hosting performances, marching in parades, and all the other awesome community events and activities that great music inspires.

Assignments Update

No new assignments will apply to this semester. Many students have missing assignments and will be able to use the remainder of the semester to get caught up.

The majority of synchronous class time will be spent rehearsing for the next concert.

Simply look for the scenario that fits and fill in the elective section of the online forecasting form as suggested. There are a number of options, so take the time to look for a specific one.  If you cannot find one, Mr. Riler can assist you.

Message from the Director

I hope you all are doing well as we enter 2021. With vaccines already being distributed, we can hopefully see a return to normalcy at some point during this year. By fall of 2021 I am hoping we are in the building once again. (fingers crossed).

Disney Update: I received an email from the travel company during the break. The schedule for group 2 & 3 refunds has been delayed until March. The delay is frustrating, but I am still confident that the refunds will arrive.

I am so sorry that this has been such a process. I appreciate your patience and understanding as this pandemic continues to affect every part of our lives.
