Wind Ensemble sight-reading portion of the audition is due by March 8 using Sight Reading Factory.

Please join us for a wonderful night of music with our talented CHS musicians Thursday, March 10th at 7:00 pm in our auditorium. The concert is free and will be held in the auditorium. Groups performing will be Concert Band, Symphonic Band, and Wind Symphony.

• The State Solo Contest will be Saturday, April 30th at Pacific University

This is an opportunity for our chamber groups to have a run through their music in front of an audience. This helps them in their preparation for the PIL Solo & Ensemble Contest on Saturday, March 5 at Cleveland HS. This is a free event and masks are required at all times.

Cleveland High School is hosting the PIL Solo & Ensemble 2022 this Saturday, March 5th starting at 8:00 am. Family and friends can attend. Stay tuned for the schedule.

The Cleveland Jazz Ensemble placed 3rd at the West Salem Jazz Festival in the 6A division.  Battleground (Washington) took 1st and Grant HS took 2nd. We had 6 student receive outstanding soloist awards:

• Auden Koeneke – Alto & Soprano Sax
• Liem Friel – Trombone
• Maia Connelly – Trumpet
• Jesse Broderick – Drums
• Drew Sykes – Guitar
• Jason Tran – Piano

The scores the band received tonight qualified them for the State Jazz Championships Tape Pool. Cleveland HS was well represented today.  Many directors came to me to express how impressed they were with our performance.
